Integrated Marine Solar Power System for Ships and Offshore Applications
Aquarius Marine Solar Power
An integrated marine solar power solution from EMP does more than just collect solar energy and is based around the flexible Aquarius MAS (Management and Automation System) This compact marine computer also monitors the performance of a solar power array & battery pack, logs data, switches equipment on/off plus can alculate vessel emissions and record fuel consumption. In addition the Aquarius MAS will monitor system performance and alarms.
The Aquarius MAS can interface with other equipment on a ship or vessel and be used to monitor engines, generators, pumps and a range of other equipment.
The Aquarius MAS H/W & S/W platform is based upon the reliable and robust KEI 3240 Data Logger which is already in use on hundreds of vessels including tug boats, training ships, tankers and bulk ore carriers. A basic Aquarius MAS package can also be expanded to include data logger functions and additional hardware later if required.
An Aquarius Marine Solar Power or Aquarius MAS + Solar package is suitable for new-building projects and can also be retrofitted to existing vessels.
A marine solar power system or array using the Aquarius MAS can also be integrated with wind power devices including EMP's EnergySail technology.
EMP can also arrange installation support including design & supply of deck frames for solar panels (if required), project management and on-site installation supervision.

Battery Packs and Energy Storage
Batteries and energy storage solutions for our Aquarius MAS + Solar package are manufactured and supplied by the Furukawa Battery Co. Ltd of Japan.
These high performance and high quality batteries include the FCP Series which have modular design for superior vibration resistance and longer life (approximately 15 years). The unit also has a space-saving design that reduces installation and maintenance time.
FCP series battery packs are available in various configurations ranging from 12VDC to 96VDC.
The Ultra Battery series is also available and along with the FCP series are approved and certified for marine applications.

Flexible Solar Panels for Ships & Marine Applications
In co-operation with our strategic partner, Solbian Energie Alternative of Italy, Eco Marine Power (EMP) is able to supply globally marine grade solar panels for shipping and marine applications.
These marine solar panels are designed to withstand the harsh conditions at sea & are suitable for all vessels ranging from small pleasure craft to ocean-going passenger ferries & cargo ships.
Solar panels produced by Solbian offer the power and reliability of crystalline silicon cells, combined with the lightness and flexibility of modern polymers.
The use of lightweight polymer films instead of traditional glass allows new applications for the proven technology of crystalline silicon cells.
The careful choice of materials and their thickness creates the right balance between protection of thin photovoltaic cells and the creation of a flexible and light case. Extreme flexibility, as seen in the picture, which will surprise anyone who has handled a crystalline solar cell, normally so brittle that they break under very low stress.
The polymers used are also characterized by high resistance to weathering, enabling certification according to IEC 61215 and 61730, a guarantee of long life even under the most extreme conditions, such as on racing yachts where the Solbian technology was applied for the first time.
The Solbian product, in its various versions, is a light, flexible and impact resistant PV module, which can even be walked upon. Lightness and flexibility make Solbian modules particularly suited to marine and sustainable mobility applications.
Solbian has a range of products, solar cell technologies and accessories suitable for ships and customized panels are also possible upon request.
